Christmas Decorating Guide
Let us help you with all your decorating needs! We've put together general tips and specific guides with answers to all your decorating questions, including valuable tips and information from Santa's Quarters' in-house decorator Carol Erath.
From the simplest to the most elaborate decorations, here are some of Carol's general tips for getting your home ready for the holidays in style:
-Pick a color theme that will complement the room you are decorating.
-Choose a central object, such as a nativity scene, and build around it.
-Mantle pieces and banisters make good places for displaying decorations at eye level.
-Use items of different height to add interest.
-Make sure the items you are using are proportionate to each other. For instance, a tiny nativity scene will be dwarfed by a tall Christmas tree.
-Don’t overpower your focal point.
-Experiment by adding and/or removing items. Try different combinations until you get the look you desire.
-Use a mirror to add depth.
-Use indirect lighting to accentuate your display. Create a festive mood with candle light.
