1. Use a tree skirt: The right color tree skirt can really make a difference. "Choose a color that compliments the room, but also stands out distinctly", Carol says. She chose a deep maroon for this tree, as it contrasts beautifully with both the flocked tree and the colors of the room.

2. Pick a basic color theme: Carol's color theme here includes maroon, dark reds, and greens. Carol says, "Choose just a few colors and stay within that range."

3. Add additional foliage to your tree: Carol added poinsettia picks to our flocked tree. She says, "Don't be afraid to add aditional foliage to your Christmas tree. Picks and garlands are both excellent choices."

4. Use a tree topper: A tree topper will add that finishing touch to your Christmas tree. Pick a style and color that goes with the rest of your decorations.

5. Enjoy your Christmas tree: After you've choosen your color theme, found the right tree skirt, ornaments, foliage, and tree topper, you're ready to sit back and enjoy your tree with a glass of eggnog and your favorite Christmas cookies!
